प्रात: काल नित्यकर्म से निवृत्त होकर माता गायत्री की मूर्ति या तस्वीर को पाट पीले वस्त्र बिछाकर विजराम करें।

गंगाजल छिड़कर स्थान को पवित्र करें और सभी देवी और देवताओं का अभिषेक करें।

इसके बाद घी का दीपक प्रज्वलित करें और धूप बत्ती लगाएं।

अब माता की पंचोपचार या षोडशोपचार पूजा करें। पंचोपचार यानी पांच तरह की पूजन सामग्री से पूजा करने और षोडशोपचार यानी 16 तरह की सामग्री से पूजा करने। इसमें गंध, पुष्प, हल्दी, कुंकू, माला, नैवेद्य आदि अर्पित करते हैं।

इस दिन निर्जला एकादशी भी है। अतः शारीरिक क्षमता अनुसार व्रत या उपवास करें। संध्याकाल में आरती करने के पश्चात फलाहार करें।

अगले दिन पूजा-पाठ करने के बाद सबसे पहले ब्राह्मणों को दान दें। इसके बाद व्रत खोलें।
Meaning & Translation
Verse 1
In the morning, after completing daily routines, place the idol or picture of Mother Gayatri on a platform covered with yellow cloth.
Verse 2
Sprinkle Ganga water to purify the place and perform ablution (Abhishekam) for all deities.

After this, light a ghee lamp and offer incense sticks.

Now perform Panchopachara or Shodashopachara puja for the Mother. Panchopachara means worship with five types of offerings, and Shodashopachara means worship with 16 types of offerings. This includes offering fragrance, flowers, turmeric, kumkum, garland, food (naivedya), etc.

Your twenty-four letters are supremely pure. Within them reside the scriptures, the Vedas, and the Gita.
