शान्ताकारं भुजगशयनं पद्मनाभं सुरेशं विश्वाधारं गगनसदृशं मेघवर्णं शुभाङ्गम् । लक्ष्मीकान्तं कमलनयनं योगिभिर्ध्यानगम्यं वन्दे विष्णुं भवभयहरं सर्वलोकैकनाथम् ॥

Verse 1
I salute Vishnu, who is of the nature of peace, who rests on the great serpent (Shesha), from whose navel springs the lotus (Brahma), who is the lord of the gods, who is the support of the universe, who is like the sky (all-pervading), whose color is like that of clouds (dark blue), whose body is auspicious, who is the consort of Lakshmi, whose eyes are like lotuses, who is realized by yogis through meditation, who removes the fear of worldly existence, and who is the one lord of all worlds.
